Maximum temperature as high as 44.5°C in Gujarat

Rajkot: Gujarat continues to reel under intense heat as Rajkot emerged as the hottest location on Wednesday, recording a scorching 44.5°C—3.3 degrees above normal. Ahmedabad and Deesa followed closely, both registering maximum temperatures of 43.5°C, also significantly above seasonal averages.
Other cities like Gandhinagar (43.4°C), Amreli (43.8°C), Surendranagar (43.3°C), and Bhuj (42.4°C) also experienced extreme heat. Coastal regions like Surat, Diu, Dwarka, and Veraval remained relatively cooler, staying below 36°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department, no significant change is likely in the temperature range for the next 2–3 days. However, some parts of Gujarat may witness relief thereafter, as rainfall has been forecast. Meanwhile, authorities have urged residents to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours.
