Four IAS officers from Gujarat to attend World Expo in Japan
May 01, 2025
Gandhinagar: Four IAS officers from the Gujarat government are set to participate in the World Expo in Japan next week. One IAS officer is already in the United States on a personal trip. In this situation, the government has directed that the responsibilities of five IAS officers, including those held by commissioners, be temporarily handed over to four other IAS officers.
According to the General Administration Department (GAD), from May 8 to 14, two IAS officers — including the Principal Secretary of the Industry and Mines Department, Praveena D.K., and the Managing Director of GIDC — will be in Japan. The responsibility for their departments will be assigned to T. Natrajan, the Additional Chief Secretary for Finance, and Roopwant Singh, the Managing Director of GMDC, respectively.
Since the Commissioner of Geology and Mining, Dhaval Patel, who also serves as the Commissioner of Civil Aviation, is on leave, his charge, previously held by Praveena D.K., will now be taken over by Roopwant Singh, who has previously managed the commissionerate.
Additionally, Industries Commissioner and GIDB CEO P. Swaroop, along with iNDEXTb MD Keyur Sampat, will be in Japan from May 4 to 10. Their additional responsibilities will be assigned to Tourism Secretary Dr. Rajendra Kumar and Dholera SIR CEO Kuldeep Arya.
Recently, some IAS officers in the state were given additional charges, and some were assigned special duties after their retirement. DeshGujarat
