Fire breaks out at Metas Adventist Hospital in Surat

Surat: A fire broke out at Metas Adventist Hospital in the Athwalines area of the city today, leading to an emergency evacuation of patients. As soon as the fire was reported, 10 firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control.
As per the preliminary report, the blaze originated in the hospital’s X-ray department, leading to panic among patients, their relatives, and hospital staff.
Fire tenders rushed to the spot after being alerted, and fire brigade teams began operations to control the flames. Rescue teams acted swiftly, relocating around 20 patients to nearby hospitals. Police cordoned off the entire area and restricted public movement on nearby roads to ensure safety and facilitate emergency response.
Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, preliminary reports suggest a short circuit or technical fault could be the reason. Fire and police officials are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause. DeshGujarat
