Ahmedabad: Civil defense mock drills will be carried out at eight locations across Ahmedabad district as part of Operation Abhyas, under the guidance of Ahmedabad District Collector Sujit Kumar, an official note said.

The mock drills will be held at the Dhandhuka Municipality, Viramgam Tank Farm, Pirana Substation Power Grid, Vatva GIDC, Gallops Industrial Park, Ganeshpura (Koth) Temple, Tata Plant at Sanand GIDC, and Palladium Mall in Thaltej. These drills are scheduled between 4:00 PM and 8:15 PM. A blackout will also be observed in urban and rural areas of Ahmedabad from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The district administration has appointed nodal officers at all eight locations to ensure proper coordination and execution of the drill. Necessary arrangements have been made in collaboration with all relevant departments.

It is noteworthy that Civil Defence mock drills are being held across the country on May 7, including in 18 districts of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad city, mock drills are being conducted at 10 different locations. DeshGujarat
