Gujarat govt bans firecrackers, drones at all events till May 15
May 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: In light of heightened security concerns, the Gujarat government has banned the use of firecrackers and drones at all public and private events and functions across the state until May 15.
Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, announced the decision via a tweet on Friday. “Gujarat: No firecrackers or drones will be allowed in any functions or events until the 15th of this month. Kindly cooperate and follow the guidelines,” he posted.
The directive comes amid increased alertness across the border and aims to ensure public safety and avoid any potential misuse of aerial devices. Authorities have urged citizens to strictly adhere to the restrictions during the specified period, as Pakistan tries to escalate across the border in the aftermath of the precision strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces at terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following the Pahalgam terror attack last month.
