ACB Gujarat nabs Class 1 officer of DGVCL in bribe case in Surat

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has apprehended a Class-1 officer of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) in a bribery case involving Rs. 10,000. The arrest followed a successful decoy operation conducted in Surat.
The accused, Ravishkumar Chhotkun Ram, Deputy Engineer (Class-1) posted at the Kadodara-2 Sub-Divisional Office of DGVCL, was caught demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000. The bribe was solicited in exchange for approving two electricity connection applications in an industrial area.
According to the ACB, the decoy was working on a contract to obtain an electricity connection in the industrial area. He had applied to the Kadodara-2 Sub-Divisional Office, DGVCL, Kadodara, for the connection. In return for approving the applications, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 5,000 per connection, totaling Rs. 10,000 for two connections.
