Gujarat Schools Academic Calendar 2025 – 2026 Provisions 80 Holidays, 240 Working Days

Ahmedabad: Schools across Gujarat reopened today as the new academic session for 2025–26 officially began. According to the academic calendar of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), this year the session will have 240 working days and 80 holidays, including summer and Diwali breaks.

As per the calendar, the first term will run from June 9 to October 15, comprising 105 teaching days, followed by a 21-day Diwali vacation from October 16 to November 5. The second term will commence on November 6 and conclude on May 3, 2026, contributing 144 working days. A 35-day summer vacation is scheduled from May 4 to June 7, 2026.

The total 80 holidays also include 15 public holidays and 9 local holidays, along with major festival breaks such as Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Uttarayan, Dhuleti, Republic Day, Independence Day, Ram Navami, Eid-e-Milad, Dussehra, Good Friday, and Mahavir Jayanti.

According to the calendar, the first term exams for Classes 9 to 12 are scheduled from September 11 to 20, covering the June to August syllabus. Supplementary exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be held from June 16 to 26, 2025. Class 9 students will appear for an aptitude test on January 28, 2026.

School-level theory and practical exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from January 30 to February 3, 2026, while Class 12 science practicals are scheduled from February 5 to 13. Annual school exams for Classes 9 to 11 will take place from April 9 to 20, 2026.
