Landslide at construction site in Gandhinagar; 1 dead, 2 rescued

Gandhinagar: A tragic landslide occurred on Wednesday morning at the Shreeji Arise construction site near the State BJP headquarters, Shree Kamalam, in the Koba area of the city, claiming the life of a 30-year-old labourer and injuring two others.
According to officials, the incident was reported to the Gandhinagar Fire Control Room at 11:40 am by Head Constable Mehul. The fire brigade team reached the site within two minutes and began the rescue operation, which concluded at 1:10 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Parmar, a resident of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. Two other labourers, Natwar Damor (45) and Chirag Damor (19), also from Dungarpur, were rescued with injuries and rushed to Akshar Hospital in Nana Chiloda for treatment.
Supervisor Chandresh stated that the landslide occurred while the workers were installing a safety net. All three labourers had been working at the site for the past one and a half months. The construction project is being managed by builder Prakash Madhubhai Patel. Authorities are likely to initiate further inquiry into the safety protocols at the site. DeshGujarat
