Harsh Sanghavi led delegation on Switzerland visit

Lausanne, Switzerland: A sports delegation from India, led by Gujarat’s Minister of Sports, Harsh Sanghvi, visited Lausanne to engage with key international sports organizations. The delegation included PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association; Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary, Sports Union; Ashwini Kumar, Principal Secretary, Sports, Gujarat; and Shri Thenarasan, Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Gujarat.
The delegation held a meeting with the Chairman of SportAccord, an international sports event body headquartered in Lausanne, to discuss the possibility of hosting the SportAccord conference in Gujarat.
Further discussions were held with Team Burson on international sports tournament presentations and collaboration opportunities.
The delegation also met with representatives of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) to explore the scope of hosting ANOC events in India. ANOC represents 206 National Olympic Committees that affiliates 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
In another engagement, the team held talks with the President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) on prospects for hosting tournaments and supporting the development of volleyball in India.
In a separate interaction, members of the delegation met with Indian professionals working with various international sports federations, focusing on knowledge exchange and potential collaborations.
