Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught a contract-based computer operator red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 at the Daskroi Mamlatdar office.
According to the ACB, the complainant’s friend’s uncle had applied at the Daskroi Mamlatdar office to reduce the rights of his brother in land located at Undrel village in Daskroi taluka. During this process, a raw note of the reduction of rights was prepared, which required certification. When the complainant and his friend approached the Mamlatdar office, accused Paragkumar Laxmanbhai Barot allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹25,000 to get the note certified.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant alerted the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the bureau laid a trap, during which Barot allegedly demanded and accepted ₹15,000 from the complainant at the Mamlatdar office. He was caught on the spot, and the bribe money was recovered from his possession. The ACB has launched further investigation into the case. DeshGujarat
