Navsari: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed Divyeshbhai Balwantbhai Patel, a police constable posted at Khergam Police Station, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 100,000.
As per the ACB, the complainant, who had been implicated in a prohibition-related case along with a friend, was asked to pay a bribe of Rs. 100,000 by the accused to avoid harassment, even though he had secured bail from the court.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap. During the sting operation at Khergam Police Station itself, the accused demanded and accepted the bribe amount from the complainant and was immediately apprehended by the ACB team. The entire amount of Rs. 100,000 was recovered from the accused on the spot. DeshGujarat
