Actor Satish Shah Passes Away

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Satish Shah, celebrated for his iconic performances in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Main Hoon Na, and the hit television sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the age of 74, his manager confirmed.
Ramesh Kadatala, who served as Mr. Shah’s personal assistant for over three decades, said the actor breathed his last at his Bandra East residence on Saturday afternoon.
Born on June 25, 1951, Shah was a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and a beloved figure in Indian cinema and television. Over a prolific career spanning several decades, he won audiences over with his impeccable comic timing in classics like Maalamaal, Hero Hiralal, Main Hoon Na, and Kal Ho Naa Ho.
He began his acting journey with small roles in films such as Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan (1978) and Gaman (1979), eventually becoming one of the most recognized faces in Indian entertainment.
Sarabhai vs Sarabhai creator JD Majethia shared that Shah had been unwell for the past few months following a kidney transplant, after which he developed an infection.
