Jamnagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today inaugurated the longest flyover bridge in Saurashtra, built at a cost of ₹226.99 crore in Jamnagar.

The total length of the four-lane elevated flyover from Sat Rasta Circle to the Subhash Chandra Bose Statue is 3,750 metres, including four approaches. The main bridge is a 16.50-metre-wide four-lane structure, while the Indira Marg and Dwarka Road approaches are two-lane, 8.40 metres wide.

With this flyover becoming operational, Jamnagar residents will now experience smoother connectivity towards Dwarka, Reliance, Nayara, G.S.F.C., and Rajkot Road. The bridge is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and accidents at major intersections beneath it, Sat Rasta Circle, Gurudwara Junction, Narmada Circle, and Nagnath Junction, resulting in considerable savings of fuel and time.

Additionally, the new route from Subhash Bridge to Sat Rasta Circle to Lal Bangla Circle will help resolve traffic issues in areas like Nagnath Junction, Trin Darwaja (Grain Market), and Bedi Gate. The space beneath the flyover has also been developed for civic use, providing 61 designated parking zones accommodating more than 1,200 vehicles, including 850 two-wheelers, 250 four-wheelers, 100 rickshaws, 100 other vehicles, and 26 buses.

Public amenities created include four pay-and-use toilet blocks, a Labour Facility Centre (Labour Chowk), sports activity zones at 10 locations, waiting/seating areas at four locations, and food zones at four locations. The flyover is expected to add a new chapter to the development of Jamnagar by enhancing road infrastructure and improving citizen convenience.
