Surat: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in the city has registered its first Tesla car among the RTOs of South Gujarat. The electric vehicle, valued at ₹76 lakh, has been purchased by a local school operator and textile mill owner.

The car owner had booked the vehicle online six months ago and recently received delivery after a long wait. Since there is no Tesla showroom in Gujarat, the buyer traveled to Mumbai for the delivery. The Mumbai showroom allows prospective buyers to experience a test drive and explore the car’s features, but spot booking is not available; all procedures, including booking, must be completed online.

The Tesla drew considerable attention at the Surat RTO. Even the inspecting officials were impressed by the car’s advanced features, examining it thoroughly from all angles.

Extra Cost for Red Color

The car is red in color, and the owner paid an additional ₹1.80 lakh for this option. The vehicle owner has also paid an estimated ₹1.40 lakh in taxes to the RTO.
