ACB Gujarat Book Constable in 2016 Bribery Case
December 04, 2025
Bharuch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked Narayanbhai Fatuji Vasava, a Class-3 police constable (Buckle No. 818) currently serving at Amod Police Station, in a bribery case involving ₹75,000.
According to the complaint filed by Police Inspector M.J. Shinde of ACB Bharuch, the case dates back to 2016, when an application had been registered at Jambusar Police Station against the complainant. The investigation of that application was handled by Constable Vasava. During the inquiry, he allegedly initiated legal procedures, including presenting the complainant before the Executive Magistrate, Jambusar, for preventive action.
To avoid harassment during the investigation, Constable Vasava allegedly demanded ₹70,000 initially and later sought an additional ₹5,000 for a “settlement,” bringing the total bribe demand to ₹75,000. The bribe was allegedly accepted at a mobile shop named “Bhatiya” in Jambusar and inside the compound of the Mamlatdar office in Jambusar on September 3, 2016.
A case has now been registered against the accused for accepting unlawful gratification for personal gain. DeshGujarat
