Gujarat Police arrests 215 in 6 days in ‘Operation Mule Hunt’ against cyber crime

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Police have launched a statewide drive titled ‘Operation Mule Hunt’ to crack down on individuals who rent out their bank accounts to cyber criminals in exchange for money. As part of the drive, in the last six days, police have registered 365 FIRs and arrested 215 people.
Director General of Police Vikas Sahay, in a post on X, said, “Many people rent out their bank accounts to cyber criminals out of greed for money. This is a serious crime. Against such mule account holders, the Gujarat Police has launched Operation Mule Hunt. In the last six days so far, 365 FIRs have been registered in which 215 people have been arrested. To stop cyber crime, the Gujarat Police is ready to take strict action.” DeshGujarat
