December 16, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Zone-4 Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested two men on Monday evening for allegedly stealing aviation turbine fuel (ATF) from a tanker parked at the cargo depot in Meghaninagar.
Police said the theft was detected between 4 pm and 5 pm after the LCB received specific inputs about fuel pilferage. A raid was conducted in the cargo parking area, where the accused were caught red-handed while siphoning fuel from the tanker and loading it into plastic containers on a loading rickshaw.
According to DCP (Zone-4) Atul Kumar Bansal, around 780 litres of ATF worth approximately ₹60,000 were siphoned off. The two accused, aged 42 and 37, are residents of Meghaninagar.
Police seized the fuel-filled containers, pipes, tools and the loading rickshaw. Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused are part of a larger fuel theft racket. DeshGujarat
