Ahmedabad: Three members of a family allegedly assaulted police personnel on duty at a police outpost in Anandnagar after being summoned in connection with an application. The incident took place at the Vrajvagari Awas police chowki under the Anandnagar police station limits.
According to the complaint, PSI Y.R. Chandu, along with a head constable and a woman police constable, was conducting inquiries into two applications when Akash Parmar arrived at the chowki with his mother, Vidya Parmar, and wife, Manisha Parmar. Before questioning could begin, the trio allegedly became aggressive, verbally abused the police staff and got into a scuffle.
Police said Akash Parmar pushed the PSI while a video was being recorded, and the intervening head constable sustained injuries after being scratched on his left wrist. The two women allegedly argued and scuffled with the woman police constable.
After the incident, the accused allegedly fled the chowki, damaging the head constable’s parked motorcycle, and escaped in a car after threatening police personnel.
Police have registered a case against all three accused, who have been detained for further investigation. DeshGujarat
