January 22, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express, the fastest train between the two cities, will temporarily operate with 20 coaches instead of the existing 16 on select days between January 26 and March 7.
According to railway officials, Train No. 22962/61 Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express will be augmented with four additional coaches to accommodate increased passenger demand. At present, the train operates with 16 coaches, comprising two executive class chair cars (double traction), 12 trailer chair cars and two non-driving trailer chair cars.
In a related development, the Mumbai Central–Vatwa Karnavati Express (Train No. 12933/34) will also undergo a temporary change in its terminal station. From January 26 to March 7, the train will operate from Bandra Terminus instead of Mumbai Central.
Passengers are advised to check train schedules and boarding stations in advance to avoid inconvenience during the temporary arrangement. DeshGujarat
