January 25, 2026
Dungra: State Finance, Urban Development and Urban Housing Minister Kanubhai Desai on Monday inaugurated major infrastructure development works at the Dungra Industrial Estate, with a total project cost of ₹25 crore. The initiative aims to strengthen industrial infrastructure and accelerate the region’s overall growth.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Desai said that the proposed stoppage of the bullet train at Dungra GIDC would transform the area into a separate and well-developed town in the coming years. “Dungra Industrial Estate, which is closely connected to Vapi, is set for rapid development. The works being initiated today will ensure that the estate remains vibrant and productive for the next 25 years,” he said.
He further emphasized the importance of efficient waste management, water management and planned urban infrastructure. “If these systems are managed properly, Dungra will not only emerge as a leading industrial hub in Gujarat but will also find a prominent place on the industrial map of India,” Desai added.
The ₹25 crore infrastructure development package for Dungra GIDC includes construction of cement concrete (CC) roads, storm water drainage systems, underground sumps, water distribution networks, pumping machinery, installation of street lights, RCC culverts and other essential civic amenities. These works are expected to significantly improve connectivity, safety and operational efficiency for industries operating in the estate.
Local officials and representatives from the industrial sector were present at the inauguration and expressed optimism that the upgraded infrastructure would attract new investments, generate employment opportunities and boost economic activity in the region. DeshGujarat
