16 Gujarat police officers to get President’s medals on Republic Day 2026

New Delhi: Sixteen police officers from Gujarat have been selected for medals for their service to the nation from President Droupadi Murmu on the eve of Republic Day.
According to an official release, two IPS officers have been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), while 14 have been honoured with the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
Additional Director General of Police Nipuna Torwane, currently serving as Principal Secretary (Home), and Shaileshsinh Raghuvanshi, Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence for the Ahmedabad Region, have been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
The Medal for Meritorious Service has been conferred on 14 other officers and personnel, including Inspector General of Police (Coastal Security) P L Mal, Inspector General of Police (Jail) A G Chauhan, and Superintendent of Police (State Monitoring Cell) M J Chavda. DeshGujarat
