Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad City Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today carried out a trap operation and arrested three persons for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 32,000 in connection with Aadhaar card-related work.
The accused have been identified as Jai Dilipkumar Pancholi (24), a contract-based peon at Saraspur Civic Center, Bhayesh Rameshbhai Solanki (27), a contract computer operator at Rajpur Urban Health Center, and their accomplice, Sandeep Vaktaji Prajapati (22).
According to the ACB, the complainant had approached accused Pancholi for assistance in obtaining a new Aadhaar card. Pancholi allegedly demanded an initial bribe of Rs 25,000, later seeking an additional Rs 7,000, raising the total to Rs 32,000. The demand was reportedly made on behalf of accused Solanki.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, which laid a trap. During the planned operation, accused Prajapati accepted the bribe amount from the complainant at the spot, after which the ACB team caught him red-handed and recovered the full amount.
The ACB stated that all three accused allegedly acted in coordination by demanding, accepting, and facilitating the bribe. Further legal proceedings are underway. DeshGujarat
