Air India Express Set to Move Operations to Terminal 2 at Ahmedabad Airport
February 21, 2026
Ahmedabad: Following the earlier announcement by Air India, its sister airline Air India Express is also likely to shift its domestic operations to Terminal 2 (T2) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport from March 29. The move is reportedly in line with the implementation of the summer schedule by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The shift follows the completion of infrastructure upgrades at T2 and is aimed at streamlining passenger movement ahead of the peak summer travel season. Airport officials indicated that the transition would help optimise terminal usage and ease congestion, as traffic volumes are expected to rise in the coming months.
Air India Express is currently among the key domestic operators at the airport, and the relocation of its services is being viewed as part of a broader terminal rationalisation plan implemented by the airport operator.
Air India, which had temporarily shifted its domestic services to Terminal 1 in April 2023, is also expected to align its operations under the revised terminal plan. DeshGujarat
