Widespread Unseasonal Rain in Gujarat; 24-Hour Rainfall Data Here

Gandhinagar: Several parts of Gujarat received unseasonal rainfall during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, with showers reported across Saurashtra, Kutch, North Gujarat and parts of Central Gujarat, according to data released by the State Emergency Operation Center in the state capital.
As many as 121 talukas received rainfall during the period, with four talukas getting over an inch of rain. These included Bagasara in Amreli district, which recorded the highest rainfall at 1.61 inches, followed by Chotila in Surendranagar with 1.54 inches. Rajkot city and Bhesan in Junagadh district received 1.38 inches each during the period.
Upleta and Dhoraji in Rajkot district, Okhamandal in Devbhumi Dwarka, and Bhabhar in Banaskantha recorded around 0.79 inches of rain, while Savarkundla in Amreli and Bhavnagar city received about 0.75 inches. Sihor in Bhavnagar saw 0.71 inches, and Mundra, Chuda, Lodhika and Lalpur each recorded about 0.63 inches.
Several other talukas, including Visavadar, Dhari, Kunkavav-Vadia, Becharaji and Khambha, recorded rainfall between 0.55 and 0.59 inches, while Botad, Kotda Sangani, Bhuj and Palitana received around 0.43 to 0.51 inches. Rainfall between 0.20 and 0.39 inches was reported in parts of Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Patan, Mahesana, Porbandar, Morbi and Amreli districts.
Light showers ranging from 0.04 to 0.16 inches were recorded in 55 talukas of Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Bharuch, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Dahod, Chhota Udepur and Banaskantha districts.
The unseasonal rain was accompanied by gusty winds in most areas, and weather officials said unstable atmospheric conditions over the region led to scattered rainfall activity across the state.
