Adesar Police Rescue People Stranded for Hours in Little Rann of Kutch

Adesar, Kutch: In a dramatic late-night operation, the Adesar Police rescued eight to nine labourers who were stranded in the treacherous terrain of the Little Rann of Kutch without food or water.

The group was travelling from the Saurashtra region in a Bolero pickup truck to Kutch, attempting to reach the Vagad area via a desert shortcut between Tikar and Palaswa. Their journey took a dangerous turn around 4 pm on March 21, when the vehicle got stuck in the marshy and uneven terrain of the Rann.

Stranded for several hours, the labourers faced harsh conditions—first the intense daytime heat and later the chilling night temperatures—with no access to food or drinking water.

Upon receiving information, a team from Adesar Police Station, led by PSI V.A. Sengal and comprising personnel Jaydeepsinh Jadeja, Babulal, and Vanrajbhai, launched a rescue mission.

They were assisted by local youth from Palaswa village, including Ramabhai Bharwad, Shaktabhai Bharwad, Munnabhai Bharwad, and Ranchhodbhai Bharwad. After a coordinated search effort in the vast desert, the team located the stranded vehicle and its occupants around 2 am and brought them to safety.

Following the rescue, authorities and local leaders cautioned the public against venturing into the Little Rann through unverified routes.

“The Rann’s terrain is extremely deceptive and dangerous. People should strictly avoid such shortcuts,” a local representative said, adding that the rescued individuals were fortunate to have survived the ordeal. DeshGujarat
