March 23, 2026
Gandhinagar: The eNagar portal, developed under the Gujarat Urban Development Mission, is a single digital platform providing multiple civic services across urban local bodies in the state. The portal has recorded over 18 lakh transactions generating ₹1,031 crore in revenue in FY 2025–26, reflecting the growing adoption of online municipal services in Gujarat, an official statement said.
According to official data, the portal had recorded 26 lakh transactions generating ₹1,522 crore in revenue in FY 2024–25. Overall, since its launch, the platform has facilitated more than 1.24 crore transactions and generated around ₹6,076 crore in revenue, indicating its widespread use by citizens and urban local bodies.
Single platform for multiple civic services
The eNagar portal is a user-friendly digital platform that integrates a wide range of municipal services at one place. Citizens can use the portal to register complaints, register marriages, pay property tax, professional tax and estate rent, apply for shop licences, book community halls, manage water and drainage connections, and obtain building permissions through a single system.
The portal offers 24×7 online access, multiple payment options including cards, UPI and net banking, real-time application tracking, mobile app support, and the facility to download certificates and receipts, making day-to-day civic services faster and more convenient.
AI chatbot, multilingual support added
To make the platform more accessible, the government has recently introduced an AI-based chatbot to help citizens obtain information and access services easily. In addition, the Bhashini-enabled eNagar interface can now be displayed in 23 languages, allowing people from diverse linguistic backgrounds to use the portal without difficulty.
As per the release, the eNagar project has significantly changed the way citizens interact with urban administrative systems. People can now pay taxes, fees and other charges, complete registrations, and receive certificates online without visiting municipal offices. The platform provides a single-window system for civic services through a common information and communication technology infrastructure created by the state government.
By reducing paperwork and eliminating long queues at municipal offices, the eNagar portal has made public services faster, more transparent and more efficient across Gujarat. DeshGujarat
