Umreth: The ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Harshad Govindbhai Parmar as its candidate for the upcoming by-election to the Umreth (Assembly constituency No. 111) seat in Gujarat. Harshad Parmar is the son of former MLA Govindbhai Parmar and currently serves as the Sarpanch of Chikhodra Gram Panchayat and President of the Anand Taluka Sarpanch Association.

Voting for the Umreth by-poll will be held on April 23, 2026, and counting of votes, along with the declaration of results, is scheduled for May 4, 2026.

The by-election was necessitated following the demise of sitting BJP MLA Govindbhai Parmar, which led to the vacancy in the Umreth Assembly constituency. DeshGujarat
