Controversial NGO operator Medha Patkar was today seen in Ahmedabad Metro court. She was here in connection with a ten-year-old case of assault on her at Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram.

In 2002k, when Medha Patkar, Mallika Sarabhai and other NGO operators were present to participate in post-riot meeting, Medha’s presence was opposed by a group of locals. Medha was allegedly assaulted and had to leave the ashram from a gate on the back side.

Police had thrashed BJP leader Amit Thakar and a group of journalist present in the ashram.
