Gujarat Congress today in a statement issued here said that Congress candidate has been victorious in municipality by-election held in the area of Dholka town of Ahmedabad district where senior minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama is voter.
Congress candidate Sarfarazkhan Mustufamiya Malek has won the by-election of ward no.4 in Dholka town where state’s Law and Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama is voter, the statement said.
The statement further claimed that Chudasama had tried his best to ensure defeat of Congress candidate, but now when the results are out, the Congress candidate has been successful in getting 1375 votes while BJP candidate has got 700 votes. Thus Congress candidate has been victorious by a margin of 675 votes.
The statement claims that BJP had managed to exclude 461 Muslim voters in this area from voters’ list, and had misused government machinery, but Congress candidate has ensured victory.
