“There should be a limit to the negativity. The Congress party can not tolerate the development of Gujarat,” Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday while inaugurating the Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) Janmarg service in Ahmedabad.
At a function held at Chandranagar area Modi said, ” We have invested around Rs9,000 crore land for the 90-km-long BRTS project. The central government has only given us back the money that was paid by our people of Gujarat. It is highly unfortunate that those whose contribution to the project is hardly 20 to 25 percent want to take credit for the entire work,” Modi said.
Modi said the Sabarmati river front development project has potential to make the city like Hong Kong. “Congress should answer why they did not develop Kankaria lake or Sabarmati river front or BRTS during their long regim,” Modi asked.
Modi appealed to the citizens to use BRTS to save the environment and money.
“There is a big difference between when 60 people drive scooters and when they ride on a bus. There is no need to explain the concept of saving money by traveling by bus, to the citizens of Ahmedabad. This will save fuel, save the city from pollution and also save money.
Modi traveled in the bus from Dharnidhar derasar BRTS stop to Anjali char rasta BRS stop and then to Chandranagar BRTS stop.
The first phase of BRTS, spread over 12.5 km from RTO Circle to Chandranagar, was formally launched on Wednesday.
