Narendra Modi to address Indian diaspora at Dubai Cricket Stadium

New Delhi

Tens of thousands of members of the Indian diaspora are expected to attend a public reception for the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi at the Dubai Cricket Association (DCA) Stadium on August 17. There are over two million Indians in the UAE. Indian Prime Minister will be visiting to this country after a gap of 34 years. Over three decades ago former Indian PM Indira Gandhi had visited UAE in 1981. Though no formal announcement has been made about the visit, it is learnt that Modi will travel to Abu Dhabi and Dubai during his August 16-17 visit.

An official organising committee called Namo in Dubai has been set up to make arrangements and has launched a website, www.namoindubai.ae, to invite online registration for attending the reception. People need to log on to www.namoindubai.ae, fill in all their details and click register. They will receive a confirmation and then they need to take a print-out of the registration page with them along with a valid photo identification card to participate in the event. Members of a variety of Indian associations for the Sikhs, the Bohri Muslims, the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC), the Jains — have volunteered to participate in the organisational work. No entry fee will be charged for the audience.
