Nine from Gujarat clear Civil services exam

Results of the written part of Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2010, held by the Union Public Service Commission in October-November, 2010 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-April, 2011 are out.
Total nine students of Gujarat have cleared the examination which is a gateway for appointment to Indian Administrative Service; Indian Foreign Service; Indian Police Service; and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
Eight out of nine Gujarat students who cleared the exam are students of Gujarat government’s Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration(SPIPA), while one successful student Pruthviraj had prepared for the examination on his own.
Among Gujarat students, one Hitesh has secured 116th rank.
The examination was held last year in May in which 110 students had appeared from Gujarat. Of them 78 were selected for main exam, and subsequently 23 were called for interview. Out of total 9 successful students, two have cleared this exam in first attempt.
