Kankaria Carnival in Ahmedabad from December 25th to 31st

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Standing committee on Friday cleared Rs 50 lakh Kankaria Carnival proposal.
Beginning on December 25, the Kankaria carnival will continue for six days and nights. It will be a fun-filled week-long event, with programmes including sports, dance, cultural events suitable to all age groups. Some of the activities outlined are; senior citizen marathon, yoga classes, an impressive display of fireworks, an exhibition of about 300 horses, Sky diving from helicopter, painting competition, laughing club activity, performances of Gujarat’s popular songs on 10 stages around the lake, Equestrian experts performance etc.
The festivity will also mark the inauguration ceremony of Rs 30 crore Kanakaria lakefront which is being developed for the last two years.
“This carnival will be an event suitable for the whole family,” Standing committee chairman Asit Vora said. The AMC has already announced rolling out Rs 7 crore British made toy train imported from the UK on December 25. It expects the train to be the main attraction for the people.

its magnificent.. unbelievable!!!… i just hope amdavadis dont litter and spread the filth in the kankaria vicinity.. which they are known for.. i just hope, as an amdavadi, the people would preserve this beautiful place that we have.. i just want amc and gujarat govt. to punish severely those who litter.. the punishment should be on the lines of Singapore where the guilty is made to clean the mess using his apparel… m sure that would work

great work! im a student of environmental sciences and i need to pick up an environmental issue in ahmedabad, suggest ways to solve it, and prepare a long essay on it, to be submitted to the International baccalaureate Organization. any help is welcome.

narendra modi has done a wonderful job in gujarat. I would say he is the best. and i can see him as a PM of india pretty soon which is cool. we really need a man like narendra modi, who can solve many proble in india.

yes , narendra modi has initiated a process of solving one of tghe problem that is muslims in feb 2002, by partially eliminating and isolating muslims of ahmedabad. hope he should eliminate muslims from india .when he become P M

we visited the carnival on 26th dec09.it was a great experience.HATS OF TO AMC for this event.there was everything from toytrain to zoo or boating or dance&music show.TOTAL ENTERTAINMENT…….sanuguide
