Gujarat’s GSM subcribers cross 2 crore mark

Gujarat has now over 2 crore GSM mobile subscribers, according to latest data available by Cellular Operators Association of India(COAI).
According to latest figures, updated on the first day of May 2009, four active cellular mobile service operators in Gujarat, added 3,96,006 subscribers in the month of April. While leading GSM operator Vodafone-Essar added 1,83,390 new subscribers, another player Airtel added 1,00,962. Operators, Idea and BSNL added 1,02,744 and 8,910 subscribers respectively.
According to data available on April 30th, 2009, Vodafone Essar continues to hold leading position in the state with 82,07,673 subscribers. Airtel(42,02,918), Idea(40,20,894) and BSNL(23,9,780) are at second, third and fourth position respectively.
