Supreme Court’s comment on Radha Krishna is unfortunate

Request from Panoon Kashmir activists has arrived that maximum people should email and protest Supreme Court’s Radha Krishna comment. Click here for draft and email address of Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has reportedly given example of Radha Krishna relationship to corroborate its judgment and said if they can live together why can’t today’s adults.
Honorable Supreme Court’s this observation and comparison is highly unfortunate.
There was no need to involve Shri Radha and Shri Krishna in this issue, because firstly Radha and Krishna never actually lived together.
When Krishna was 12-year-old, Radha was 20 and married to a Gop. Radha and Krishna used to meet with lots of other friends at public places and they never actually lived together according to our ancient scriptures.
When Shri Krishna was 16-year-old, he left Gokul and shifted to Mathura to settle there. Lord Krishna then shifted to Dwarika. Shri Krishna never went back to Gokul to meet Radha, or he never called Radha to either Mathura or Dwarika.
The relation between Shri Krishna and Radha can be defined in various ways but there is nothing that can prove that they were in live-in relationship. Honorable Supreme court judges might be knowing the law of this post-1947 nation well, but sorry to say, they should not deliver their observations about our culture or dharma without detailed study.
Section of media has published that the judges of the Supreme Court termed Lord Krishna and Radha’s story as mythology. We should object whenever somebody says Ramayan, Mahabharat or Geeta as mythology. The word mythology comes from a word ‘myth’, and Radha Krishna story is not myth. It was reality, and that’s what we feel about them even after thousands of years.
For further clarity on Radha Krishna issue I met Ahmedabad’s SG Highway based ISKCON mandir’s chief priest Shri Jashomati Nandan Dasji Maharaj who has spent his life around Shri Krishna’s bhakti, bhaktas and related books. He was bit shocked to know about the observations made by our judges on the issue of relation of Lord Krishna and Radha.
Shri Jashomati Nandan said, Shri Shankara Bhagwan consumed poison and was called Neelkanth, but an ordinary person would die if he consumes even a spoon full of poison. Lord Krishna had lifted Govardhan Parbat on his one finger, but an ordinary person would not be able to do that. There can be no comparison between ordinary person and God. Then Radha Krishna relation was pious, it was not worldly relation and they never lived together actually, or there was no sex involved. To say that they lived together and therefore it should be valid today for a common person is sheer foolishness. Shri Krishna was Vishnu Swarup and Shri Radhaji was Lakshmi Swarup. Dandakaranya’s Rishi Munis and Ved’s Ruchas were in the form of Gopis. More about Radha Krishna relation was written in Chaitanya Mahaprabhu era.
Two years back we heard somebody from the government of India claiming lord Ram never existed. And then today we open a newspaper and read our Supreme Court judges giving a logic that as Lord Krishna and Radha lived together according to them, the live-in relationship should be valid for adults! If this is the logic, then Dashrath Raja had many wives and therefore the people of this nation should be allowed to have many wives, or if some Prophet of some sect in medieval period married 9-year-old child, the people of his community should be allowed to marry a girl child. Shall we decide the things based on such fantastic logics suitable for winning Padma award now?
