Three bomb blasts rock Vadodara bungalow,fourth defused

Series of three bomb blasts rocked Vadodara’s Samruddhi apartment bungalow early Friday morning in Manjalpur area. The bungalow is under construction and it belongs to personal assistant of a judge. Blasts occurred on first and second floor of bungalow one by one at 10 minute gap. First blast occurred at 3.33 am, second at 3.43 am and last at 3.53. None was injured or dead. Bungalows’ slab felled down due to intensity of the blasts. The blasts were heard in kilometers of area due to early morning time.
Makarpura police team arrived on the spot when the last blast occurred. The fourth bomb was found live on second floor and defused by police. According to police and forensic scientists, bombs were made using Gun powder, pipe, timer devise, battery, magnetic tap, pencil cell, capacitor and cable.
Police has detained one contractor and four laborers for primary investigation. According to police they had visited the bungalow in last 24 hours and could provide important links. Apartment owner lives on ground floor and he was there only when the blasts occurred. A staircase connecting ground floor and first floor is inside the bungalow.
Meanwhile Gujarat Police Chief Shri SS Khandawawala said bombs were local made. DGP Kahndawawala convened an immediate meeting at Gandhinagar based Police headquarter. He said those who want to disturb peaceful atmosphere in Gujarat will be punished.
