Gujarat BJP MLA invites Rahul Gandhi in his farmer rally
Ahmedabad, 3 September, 2010

Gujarat BJP MLA from Mahuva Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria today said, he wants the party to relieve him. Kalsaria said, he is mentally not in BJP, and knows well, that today or tomorrow, the party would relieve him.
Addressing a press conference with socialist leader Sanat Maheta in Ahmedabad, Dr. Kalsaria announced a grand public meeting at Bhavnagar district’s Doliya on Sunday where thousands of farmers will gather to protest proposed Nirma cement plant.
Dr, Kalsaia said, that even after his repeated representations, Gujarat Chief Minister is not ready to stop Nirma cement plant. This will ultimately ruin the new generation of local farmers.
Kalsaria also alleged that even when central environment ministry’s clearance is not given yet, the company has started mining in this area.
According to sources, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has been invited by Dr. Kalsaria to attend Doliya rally on Sunday. Rahul and Dr. Kalsaria met some days back on the sideline of a seminar in Anand, after which Rahul ordered state youth Congress leaders to carry out a survey to check Kalsaria’s anti-Nirma plant movement’s public support. As survey result was positive, the youth congress Gujarat unit has been ordered by Rahul to support Kalsaria’s movement. Kalsaria recently attended youth congress seminar on environment in Ahmedabad. BJP has not taken any step against Kalsaria, but likely to do that in future. Kalsaria has publicly criticized Modi’s favorite Vibrant Gujarat summit and state government’s pro-industry overdrive.
