Ahmedabad-Delhi Duronto train, what an idea Solankiji!

We thought this year’s Railway budget was good for Gujarat, and yes it was really good, but then have a look here to know what our Member of parliament Dr. Kirit Solanki from Ahmedabad(West) seat, thinks about the budget. In ‘Dil mange more’ style he wants more from Mamata for the state.
Some of the demands made by MP Kirit Solanki in his speech discussing the Railway budget in Lok Sabha last week are worth considering, and may be if other Solanki(minister of state for Railway and MP from Gujarat Shri Bharatsinh Solanki in this case)is convinced, in next Railway budget we could see some reflection. One of the demands Ahmedabad(West) MP Kirit Solanki made in parliament was about starting a new Ahmedabad-Delhi Duranto Express. This is really a good idea. Ahmedabad-Jaipur Shatabdi train is another superb idea. Ahmedabad-Amritsar superfast is badly needed as presently there’s no train linking Ahmedabad and Punjab directly. Ahmedabad Udaipur gauge conversion is another needed work that Solanki raised. Shifting of Head Quarter of Western Railway to Ahmedabad is long pending demand, but do you think Babus of Railways would like to leave plush locality of south Mumbai, and those beautiful Church gate offices? And ofcourse those liquor glasses in the evenings? No way. Doesn’t it seem that shifting Western Railway headquarter to Ahmedabad is distanced dream therefore?
Following are the demands/complains made by Ahmedabad MP Kirit Solanki during debate on Railway budget 2011-12 in Lok Sabha:
1. Our demand to set up terminal station of Sabarmati and Maninagar are ignored. Since Kalupur railway station is over burden and it is in congested area, there need of the hour to start Sabarmati and Maninagar Railway Station and to turn long routes trains from there.
2. Our need to start New trains are not accepted in this budget.
i) Ahmedabad-Rajkot-Hapa Shatabdi Train. Since there is not a single high profile train in Saurashrtra, it is badly needed.
ii) Ahmedabad-Delhi Duronto Express.
iii) Ahmedabad-Delhi Rajdhani Express via Anand, Dakor and Godhara.
iv) Ahmedabad-Jaipur Shatabadi Train
v) Ahmedabad-Haridwar-Deharadum Superfast Express
vi) Ahmedabad-Amritsar Superfast.
vii) Palan-Mumbai Superfast.
3. Gauge Conversion: Following are the demands (Broad gauge)
i) Ahmedabad-Botad-Bhavnagar
ii) Ramuj-Chanasma-Beeharaji-Katosan and Kalol
iii) Ahmedabad-Udaipur
4. New Broad gauge Lines
i) Chanasma-Harij-Radhanpur
ii) Ahmedabad-Mehsana-Delhi double line
5. Different Intercity trains between Ahmedabad to Patan, Palanpur, Rajkot, Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Surat, etc.
6. Head Quarter of Western Railway to Ahmedabad.
-It is a long standing demand and manor network of western railway and revenue is from Gujarat. Hence it is very important to shift the Headquarter of Western Railway to Ahmedabad.
-In this budget, there are many announcement if surveys of different lines which is quite illusive and earlier also such many survey had been carried out without any concrete results.
-I demand the declaration of various surveys should be completed in time limits and thereafter necessary actions should be taken in due course of time. The Railway Minister should give assurance in this regard.
-Regarding present Rajadhani Train between Ahmedabad and Delhi, I strongly demand to have official stoppage at Sabarmati on both the ways.
