Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia today in a statement made allegation that BJP ruled Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) was trying to impose Town Planning(TP) scheme on Gujarat University owned land. He said such move will be opposed with all possible strength.
Modhwadia said recently the municipal commissioner visited Gujarat University campus to discuss her plan to implement TP scheme on University land to build roads and acquire margin land.
Modhwadia said this procedure is in its final stage.
He said, the University will loss its land and roads passing through campuses will disturb peaceful atmosphere in colleges.
He said there’s worldwide practice that educational campuses and universities are treated as silent zones and no vehicle other than bicycle is allowed to enter beyond parking zone. University can repair and resurface its internal roads through its own budget. If it is insufficient, then government can extend its help and provide fund.
