Gujarat Chief Secretary G.R. Aloria has also been given the additional charge of the Chairman of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) Limited, GSPC LNG and Gujarat Gas Limited by the state government.

Mr. Aloria, a 1981 batch IAS officer was given this additional responsibility to spearhead the three closely related state owned leading oil and gas exploration, development and production companies today.

Mr. Aloria was appointed Chief Secretary Govt on May 31, 2015. He has held various key assignments in the past such as Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Principal Secretary (Urban Development), Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation and Managing Director, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited, amongst other important assignments.

GSPC Group has emerged as an energy conglomerate having presence in the entire energy value chain has extensively worked on developing Gujarat as a natural gas driven economy by establishing more than 2192 kms of gas transmission pipeline across the state and providing natural gas to more than 14,07,000 household, 2774 industries in 29 districts.
