BJP MLA from Choryasi Rajendra Patel (Raja Patel) passes away

BJP MLA elected from Choryasi seat of Surat district Shri Rajendrabhai Patel, popularly known as Raja Patel passed away today afternoon in hospital in Mumbai.
Rajabhai was suffering from fever for over a week and had gone to Dubai in between. He had to come back owing to his condition.
Rajabhai was detected with dengue and was under treatment. He was first admitted to Mahavir General hospital in Athwalines area of Surat city. As he was showing no signs of improvement and his condition continued to deteriorate, he was airlifted to Mumbai through air ambulance.
Born on 1st June 1955 in a small town near Surat district called Sultanabad, Rajendrabhai P Patel started his political career from the grass root level. He contested for the Gram Panchayat election and won the election and served as the Sarpanch of Sultanabad from 1990 to 2000.
He started participating actively with BJP since year 2000 as the member of the Choryasi Taluka Panchayat for two years.
He became the President of the Executive Committee of the Choryasi Taluka for 8 years and currently working as a President of Construction Committee.
During 2012, he contested Gujarat Assembly Election from 168 Choryasi Election Constituency on behalf of the Bhartiya Janta Party and won it.
Choryasi assembly seat will attract by-election in next six month following the death of Rajabhai, possibly alongside district/taluka panchayat elections that are likely to take place in October this year.
