Diwali is also an occasion of ‘Chopda Pujan’ ceremony for business class among Gujaratis. In proper Muharat, Chopda Pujan is held on this day every year by those having business. Account books of business are worshiped in presence of Brahmin who conducts related rituals. While most businessmen hold ‘Chopda pujan’ at home or at business place, in Swaminarayan branch of Hindu faith, sants call all businessmen to Mandir for ‘Chopda pujan’. At such gatherings, businessmen not just worship account books, but the younger lot also prefer to worship laptop which is used for keeping financial accounts. Traders after Chopda Pujan also take pledge for fair practices.
