Zankhana Patel is BJP candidate for Choryasi assembly by-poll

Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has selected Zankhana Patel(35) as party’s candidate for Choryasi assembly seat by-poll which is scheduled to take place on January 21. Zankhana is daughter of late sitting BJP MLA of Choryasi assembly seat Shri Rajabhai Patel who passed away last year in the month of August due to dengue. Zankhana Hiteshbhai Patel who has completed Home Science education was one of four family members of late Shri Raja Patel who had sought party ticket to contest the by-poll. Dominated by Koli Patels and north Indians, Choryasi assembly seat is considered safe seat for BJP. It consists parts of Surat city and district. The election will be fought mainly between BJP and Congress candidates. Congress party was waiting for BJP candidate’s announcement. Last date of filing nomination is January 4.
