Works for Surendranagar – Rajkot double track are likely to be completed in year 2019-2020. This was stated by GS Agrawal, General Manager of Western Railway during a meeting with Member of Parliaments in Rajkot.

The double track works were approved in last year’s Railway budget, however administrative procedures are taking time.

In total 13 MPs were invited to this meeting, however only 5 actually attended it. They were Devji Fatepara, Bhavnaben Shiyal, Rajesh Chudasama, Naran Kachhadiya and Kirit Solanki. As Rajkot MP and union minister Mohanbhai Kundariya was travelling to Odisha, he couldn’t attend the meeting but sent his representative to this meeting which was held in presence of Western Railway General Manager and DRMs of Rajkot and Bhavnagar divisions.
