While training Karnataka rangers in Gir, Gujarat forest officer clicks rare photo

These photographs containing a group of 9 lions/lionesses/cubs has been clicked by forest officer Dr Sandip Kumar in Gir jungle. The forest department has developed artificial water bodies across Gir during summer to offer enough sources of water for lions. The picture was clicked when 46 newly recruited forest rangers from Karnataka visited Gir jungle for training. Gir jungle has as per year 2015 census total 523 lions. The jungle has witnessed rise in number of not only lions but also leopards. The rangers from Karnataka are also being trained in Velavdar and Barda hill forest areas in Gujarat.
