Benefits of 7th pay commission to Gujarat govt employees from 1st August:CM

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has declared that her government will give benifits of 7th pay commission to State govt employees from 1st August 2016. This decision will benifit 4.65 lakh state govt employees and 4.12 lakh pensioners. Chief Minister has decided to accept the recommendations of 7th pay commission as declared by central government.
Gujarat government had earlier said it would have to incur an extra burden of Rs 6000 crore per year if it were to apply the Seventh Pay Commission even as state employees union sought immediate implementation of the award.
The Union Cabinet had earlier accepted the recommendation of of Justice A K Mathur headed panel, which would benefit around one crore government employees and pensioners across country.
