Ahmedabad: South Asian Games medal winner national swimmers Manna Patel and Neil Contractor (both Amdavadis) today launched 3 state-of-the-art swimming polls at The Arena by TransStadia, the multi-facility sports arena in Kankaria which had recently hosted Kabaddi World Cup.

The three infinity pools by Eka club are accompanied by the FIFA standard natural turf, and lush green gardens. These also have Ozone Treatment filtration and temperature control facilities.

Founder and Managing Director of SE TransStadia, Udit Sheth said that with the swimming pools, The Arena by TransStadia continues to grow with the vision of becoming an incubator of sports, and sporting talent in the country.
“Over the last few years Gujarat’s sporting aspirations have increased, with the state ranking going from 28 to 9 nationally. Looking to build on this growth, the Eka Club and The Arena by TransStadia are pleased to welcome athletes from across the state to be a part of the revolution in Gujarat’s sporting fabric. The state of the art swimming pool is a step in that direction, and we hope to further these ambitions,’ he said.

The Arena by TransStadia, a pioneering PPP in the sports sector, was launched last year with the Kabaddi World Cup 2016. It houses facilities for 14 sports, and utilises world renowned technologies like the ‘StadiArena’ and the ‘T-Box Technology’ which allows modular and retractable seating systems. The integrated multi-sports facility also includes a designated sports science and rehabilitation centre, making it the perfect venue for elite teams, and amateurs alike, he said.

The pools were inaugurated by Ahmedabad’s own, national level swimmers Maana Patel, and Neil Contractor. A prodigy who started swimming at the age of 7, Maana has represented India on the international platform, winning 8 medals at the South Asian Aquatic Championship while Neil Contractor represented the country internationally, winning 2 medals at the South Asian Games in 2016.

Wowing the audience, the swimmers inaugurated the pool by swimming in from opposite ends, and raising the logo of the Eka Club in the centre of the pool. Eka Club is an exclusive club with the Arena.
