IIMA gets more fund for restoration of heritage campus

Ahmedabad: Conservation & Restoration of Classrooms and Dorms at IIMA Heritage campus is among the major infrastructure initiative at the institute. The institute is pleased to announce the recent funding support/ commitment for the two classrooms (CR-2 and CR-5) and three dorms (D-3; D-6; and D-18).

“It gives me tremendous joy to participate in today’s announcement. Several meaningful contributions from our alumni and well-wishers have led to financial support for almost all the classrooms and four of the dorms in our Heritage Campus. Earlier, we had announced to the press the following donations related to conservation and upgrade: by TCS for Vikram Sarabhai Library; by anonymous alumni for dorm D-1 (to be named Kamala Chowdhary Dorm) and CR-3 (to be named Labdhi Bhandari Classroom); by RBL Bank, led by our alumnus Mr. Vishwavir Ahuja, PGP 1981, for classroom CR-1; and by alumni of our PGP 1992 batch for classroom CR-4. We had also shared on social media in the past few weeks the following contributions: by Zydus, led by group chairman Mr. Pankaj Patel, IIMA board member and well-wisher of the Institute, for dorm D-3; by Mr. Sukumar Srinivas, founder and MD of Shankara Building Products, and our PGP 1983 alumnus, for dorm D-18; and by our alumnus Mr. P.P. Gupta, PGP 74 for dorm D-6 (his second major contribution to IIMA, the first going towards establishment of the PP Gupta auditorium in the New Campus).

In addition to these contributions, I am delighted to share with you the following additional contributions towards restoration and upgrade: by an alumni couple for classroom CR-5; and by alumni of our PGP 1982 batch for classroom CR-2. All these contributions are a reflection of the affection and commitment our alumni and benefactors feel towards the Institute. Even as the generous contributions of our alumni and friends help restore and expand the Institute’s physical infrastructure, we will continue to endeavor to deliver the best quality of education to our students, research on the frontiers of management, and counsel to practice and policy that is valuable and relevant.”said, Prof. Ashish Nanda, Director, IIMA

“I am delighted to see that during the last few years, the enthusiasm to contribute to the infrastructure on IIMA campus has become infectious! More and more alumni and other benefactors are coming forward to support Institute’s endeavour to create a better learning environment for students and faculty. This support will not only upgrade the physical facilities essential for learning but also help us conserve the iconic heritage campus of the Institute. We are very thankful to all the contributors for their generous support” said Prof. Rakesh Basant, Dean A&ER, IIMA.
