Gujarat Police issued over 1,000 tadipaar orders in 77-day crackdown: DGP Sahay

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Police issued over 1,000 externment (tadipaar) orders, averaging nearly 13 orders daily, between March 15 and May 31, as part of a crackdown on alleged miscreants amid growing street violence. Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay shared this update following the Monthly Crime Conference for May 2025, held at the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) headquarters. The conference had been delayed due to the June 12 plane crash.

DGP Sahay said that, in line with his directive for a 100-day enforcement campaign, authorities had demolished 586 illegal constructions and encroachments across Gujarat in coordination with civic bodies. Additionally, 1,857 illegal electricity connections were disconnected.

As part of further legal action, police submitted 434 proposals to courts seeking the cancellation of bail for individuals with criminal records. Over 1,000 externment orders were passed during this period, and more than 800 individuals were booked under the Gujarat Prevention of Anti-Social Activities (PASA) Act.

Sahay also noted that under the PIT NDPS (Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act—which allows preventive detention in drug-related cases—17 individuals had been detained in the past two weeks.

In financial crime investigations, cybercrime units scrutinized the bank accounts of over 200 accused persons. Sahay added that the integrated 112 emergency helpline will soon be operational in Gujarat. DeshGujarat
