September 23, 2017
Junagadh: An around 30 ft long whale, which was found on the sea-shore in a village in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat three days ago and again left in the deep sea has unfortunately died.
The body of the whale was found ashore today in a close-by area. The reason of death has not yet been ascertained.
A forest official said that the locals and fishermen of Nava Bandar in Una taluka of the district saw the body of the giant fish.
It was the same fish which was found alive ashore on September 21. It was thrown out of the sea by strong currents. Owing to falling on the sand it was unable to go back to the waters at its own. On getting the information, a team of forest department and local fishermen had somehow put it back in the deep sea again. Two fishing boats were also used for it.
‘We are saddened to see that the fish is dead,’ he said.
